Stories and how we tell them to one another has been of great cultural importance to the human race since the dawn of time. It is only with a firm oral tradition that history is passed down to the next generation and we can understand how life was once lived. But until recently, we didn’t get any further than the novel. While enjoyable and available, the novel can be cumbersome and difficult to find time for.
More recently, interest in the unabridged audio book has skyrocketed. The experience of listening to a book is quite different from reading a book, and both have their advantages and disadvantages.
Audio books are read by a narrator who reads carefully and concisely, being sure that we can follow along with every word. Added sounds and specific voices for each character may make the story not only easier to follow along with than a novel, but also more entertaining!
Listening rather than reading also helps save our eyes. Reading can be a great strain on the eyes, especially if one reads in darkness or near darkness. The audio book isn’t restricted by the amount of available light.
Parents exhausted after a long day’s work may find the audio book to serve as a great bedtime story for the kids. With an entertaining and lively experience of stories while they are young, a child can grow up to be a great lover of books. If every tale is read by a tired parent with drooping eyelids, the child is more likely to dislike story time.
The monotony of daily chores can be livened up with an unabridged audio book. Cleaning the house or mowing the lawn is times spent listening to…well, nothing, really. Why not relive one of your favourite stories?
The pain and ache of a long morning’s jog can be alleviated by listening to a good novel.
It is important to note that listening is much easier than reading. An exhausted student is more likely to simply listen to a reading on a topic of interest than to open a long and overly descriptive textbook.
Storytelling and how we listen to stories has played a great part in human history and will continue to do so for years to come. As technology and society advances in pace, should not reading advance as well?

I am a person who loves to surf the internet, especially some of the internet forums. It is something that helps me to relax and unwind in the evening. Just lately though something has started to really wind me up; it is all of the negativity that is around at the moment – perhaps it has something to do with the credit crunch – perhaps it has something to do with the mentality of the people involved – whatever it is, it surely has to stop. I was always bought up with the saying “If you haven’t anything nice to say don’t say anything at all”.
The majority of people contributing to these forums are very quick to moan and groan; they do not seem to have a positive bone in their bodies. I can not see the point in becoming involved if you are this way inclined.
My advice to people out there is to ignore all of these negative demonic people and to find a different forum if the one you are visiting is plagued by these rats.
There really is only one way to think in this wonderful life of ours and that is to think positive. There will be always be people who try to drag you down; these are normally people who have failed in their own lives, failed to fulfil their own dreams and ambitions. They are now trying to make you also become a failure. We however are not a part of their destructive, negative and failure gang. We will succeed, we will be happy, we will be confident, we will be strong and what’s more we will be positive.
There will always be the demons out there, well at least until Armageddon! Our role, for now, is to route them out, destroy them by ignoring them, and by continuing to follow the right path.

Have You Ever Asked Yourself Why Do I Stutter?
1% of the American population has a stuttering problem. If you are part of this 1%, you may be asking yourself ” Why Do I Stutter?” While this does add up to over 3 million people, what makes me and you different from the other 99%? As a former stutterer myself, I’ve pondered on this question hundreds of times. One day, I got tired of asking myself this and decided to do some research to get some answers.
The truth is, you and I aren’t much different than the rest of the world accept for the fact that over the years, we subconsciously developed a negative breathing habit that is triggered by certain emotional states. You may have wondered to yourself, “Why do I stutter only at certain times?”. Well the reason behind this, is due to the fact that we actually only stutter when we reach certain emotional states. When in these specific emotional states, we switch into these problematic breathing habits that make us unable to properly release our breath as we speak. Not being able to release our breath in the normal fashion while speaking, causes us to stutter.
So what are these emotional states that makes me stutter? Well that really depends on you, quite frankly everyone is different. Many people have developed different anxieties due to their stuttering tendencies that actually trigger their stuttering. A lot of it has to do with feeling tense or nervous. For example, many people ironically only stutter while talking on the phone.
The cure for stuttering, actually lies learning to identify what triggers your emotional states, and changing your habitual breathing patterns while talking.
Hey I know this sounds easier said than done. However, it really does not have to be so difficult! I know you have been asking yourself “Why Do I Stutter?” and have become very frustrated trying to find an answer and way to stop it without much luck.
I was able to learn how to stop stuttering, by applying the information that I have just told you.

There is a video at MyStutterCure.Com that taught me exactly how to identify what triggers these emotional states and how to change my habitual breathing patterns. It is called the “stuttering annihilation technique” and the author learned it personally from Tony Robbins.
I highly recommend it!
