Trying To Find Help For Stuttering?
Do you want help for stuttering? If the answer was yes, then you are reading the right article!. As a previous stutterer also, I understand first hand, how tough it may be attempting to seek help for stuttering and not having much success looking for it! The internet is a vast domain of digital info, alas it looks like help for stuttering might be one field that it seems to be deficient in.
In this article, I’d like to share with everyone a few tips that were of help to me in reducing my stuttering.
1.) Prior to you beginning to speak, try taking a slow and deep breath. I understand that this is easier said then applied, but try your best to avoid worrying that you may stutter. Truth be told, the more often you worry about it, the more you will find yourself stuttering.
2.) I’m sure you’ve watched the news before, and noticed how those TV anchors speak in a low tone from the chest and emphasize every syllable? You may find this silly, but I actually tried imitating this and found that I tended to stutter less. Later on, I realized that this is no coincidence. By taking the sound away from our problem areas, which happens to be our vocal chords and mouth, stutterers will stutter less often.
3.) The next time you say want to say something, take a quick second and rehearse what you are about to say in your mind before you begin to say it out loud.
These 3 tips, helped me to get my stuttering issue under control.
Help for stuttering is difficult to find, these techniques if applied conscientiously will assist you in reducing your stuttering greatly. However, it should be noted that this is not a complete cure.

Therapies For The Speech Impediment Known As Stuttering
The speech impediment stuttering has had its fifteen minutes of fame or news coverage in recent years. Firstly there was the famous comedian and traveller Michael Palin, then came the pop idol Gareth Gates and lately the vice president of the United States Joe Biden. No longer do the people who suffer with this type of speech impediment have to accept their stutter, yes there is an alternative. Nobody is trying to suggest that overcoming or eradicating a stutter is easy, far from it in fact, however for people who have the determination, the will to succeed and who are willing to work hard, fluency is attainable.
So what are the available treatments for stuttering? Well until recent times seemingly the own form of treatment came in the form of traditional speech and language therapy. This unfortunately was a far from successful form of stuttering therapy with the speech therapists themselves confirming that they were unable to help people to achieve fluency. This is fair enough however the advice that they do provide, in my humble opinion, is rather on the negative side. What do you mean? You may be thinking. Well they advise people to accept the fact that they have a speech impediment and they also advise that there is no point in dreaming of achieving fluency as they believe that there is not a cure for stuttering. Just as well many people, people who have had and who have overcome a stutter, did not listen to their words of wisdom.
There are a number of therapies for stuttering that do work. Again, as already mentioned in this article, these are not some sort of magic pill or special potion or drug. These therapies instead come in the form of one-to-one speech therapy courses for people who stutter. During the course the course attendee is taught a series of techniques and is given advice as to the forms of practice and the amount of practice that should be applied to enable the techniques to become “natural”. This is not some weird form of speech that is being coached, this is not the costal breathing many people have undoubtedly heard of, this is not extremely weird sounding slowed speech or strange sounding prolonged speech. No this is teaching people to speak in the way that they do dream of, the way in which other fluent people speak. It is a
