Stuttering Cure Tips

There are many people in the world who suffer with a stutter, which is a form of speech impediment. I myself had a stutter for eighteen years, however at the age of twenty-two, I managed to achieve fluency. This article looks into how to cure a stutter and what my life is like, now I have overcome the stutter.

People who stutter at times seek a way to overcome their speech problem, as having a stutter can at times make life a struggle. There are many types of therapy for stuttering, including stutter cure courses or traditional speech therapists.

Since overcoming my own stutter, I am now able to order food and drink for example, without fear of stuttering or stammering as some people call it. I am able to talk on the telephone and am able to enjoy socialising without the fear of stuttering. I have become a more positive and happy person, life is no longer the battle it once used to be. I appreciate my speech compared with the average fluent person, who do not realise how lucky they are. I have even been accused of talking too much, but this is something I will never apologise for – when I had a stutter I hardly spoke at all.

Six years ago I met my present girlfriend, Sharron, who has an eleven-year-old daughter, called Taryn. Together we have a son who is five years old, called Ethan.

What attracted me to Sharron was her positive outlook on life and I am sure we will have a happy and successful future together.

I now feel free, like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. My self confidence and self esteem levels have increased no end.

When I had the stutter, I always seemed to accept second best. It affected every decision I made, I left school because of the stutter, dated girls which to be truthful, not only did I not feel attracted to, but did not particularly find interesting. My stuttering mind convinced me that I could do no better. I was unhappy where I worked, but just accepted it; I did not feel able to put myself through the interview process again.

I now only accept the best and my life has improved tremendously.

In general, what fluency has given me is:

1. Confidence

2. Happiness

3. Contentment

4. Optimism

5. Success

6. Relaxation

7. A positive outlook on life

8. Freedom of speech
